SOT Konya — Community Platform

Overview

SOT Konya is a comprehensive digital companion for the city of Konya, Turkey. Developed under Arkavi Labs, this localized mobile application is built to connect residents, students, and visitors with local events, housing facilities, cultural sites, and real-time updates.

The Problem

Tourists, international students, and new residents in Konya often face challenges finding accurate, localized information about city landmarks, community events, and student dormitories (yurtlar). Existing local platforms lack multi-language support (specifically Arabic and English), real-time alerts, and offline accessibility, creating information barriers.

The Solution

SOT Konya provides a modern, localized mobile solution built from the ground up:

• Multi-language Support: Full localization for Arabic, Turkish, and English with dynamic LTR/RTL layout switching.
• News Feed & Events: Real-time news hub and interactive events scheduling with direct WhatsApp registration and payment options.
• Student Housing Directory: Browse, filter, and view details of student dormitories (yurtlar) in Konya to find accommodation easily.
• Real-Time Push Notifications: Powered by Firebase Cloud Messaging for immediate alerts on local events and critical news updates.
• Administration Suite: Web-based control panel for managing users, news articles, and events efficiently.

Technical Architecture

The application is structured using a Feature-First Architecture pattern to ensure independent, modular development across features:

• Features (lib/features/): Contains self-contained feature subfolders for Administration, Authentication, Events, News, Profile, and Settings.
• Core (lib/core/): Shared utilities, global design systems, widgets, and API clients.
• Localization (lib/l10n/): Custom localization keys and generation scripts.
• Backend Services (functions/): Node.js and Python Firebase Cloud Functions supporting notification payloads and event processing.
